1. Drastically cutting calories without any increase: Cutting calories is necessary for maximum weight loss and the more you cut the more you will lose, but you have to be careful. If you cut too much for too long you will crash your hormonal and metabolic system. So make sure you spike your calories every once in a while.
2. Soothing emotional pain with pleasure food: Food is very powerful. In fact, sugar can have drug-like effects on your brain. Unfortunately, pairing pleasure foods with emotional pain can lead you to some serious weight gain. Instead, have some distracting activities you can do when you feel those negative emotional states taking their grip.
3. Constantly checking your weight: Do this and you will end up hating the process of getting in shape. Not only will it drain you psychologically, but constantly checking your weight is not an accurate way to assess your progress.
4. Staying away from all comfort food: Doing this will eventually lead you to binge, not a good thing! So make sure you have your comfort food, but eat it on strategic days. You want to eat it on the days when you need to spike caloric intake.
5. Underestimating the benefits of non-exercise activity: This type of activity is extremely beneficial, yet most women severely under appreciate it. You see, this type of activity gets your blood flowing which accelerates recovery, and burns calories without stressing your system.
