Which Equipment Do You Need At Home To Make Coffee?
Any coffee lover knows that the time which elapses between the coffee beans being roasted and ground affects its quality. They also know that a good cup of coffee often depends on the equipment brewing it. Gone are the days when a pot of coffee is cooked in a tin pot over an open fire in the open range.
Freshly roasted and ground coffee is a great deal better than coffee which has been ground and allowed to grow stale. So you will need a coffee grinder to get the best possible quality out of your coffee. A coffee bean roaster would be great if you can manage it. A lesser quality coffee bean which is freshly ground is much better than a high quality coffee which is ground and allowed to go stale.
It is not easy to find freshly roasted coffee beans unless you roast them yourself, but they can be found in many specialty shops. The very least you as a coffee lover can do is invest in a decent grinder. Coffee grinders come in all shapes and sizes, the models and makes vary, but this coffee equipment basically performs the same function no matter what the model.
For espresso coffee lovers, an espresso machine is an absolute must in coffee equipment. You simply can’t make a good cup of espresso using a standard brewer or percolator. For some, that would be sacrilege.
This is easily achieved with one of the three basic types of espresso machines available. For your home coffee equipment requirements, you can consider the semi-automatic, automatic and super automatic types of espresso machine. Each has its own pros and cons, but the automatic espresso machine is the middle of the road version and it can be programmed to make your 23 second shot.
Super automatic espresso makers do everything for you, they grind the beans, tamp and pull the espresso shot, switch off and in most instances even get rid of the used coffee grounds. Not only are they high tech and works of art, these coffee machines are a source of fascination for espresso lovers everywhere, and they also cost a great deal of money. However for the coffee fanatic, price is no object when it comes to high quality coffee equipment.
Always buy a machine that is easy to have serviced locally and has parts available. It is easy to get drawn into the glamor of “looks” but when your espresso coffee equipment breaks down, you need to be able to get repairs done as quickly as possible, preferably before the withdrawal symptoms start!
Choosing a home coffee machine can be difficult. It is not a choice that you should be making unless you are doing some research. Not all coffee machines are right for everyone some people may prefer coffee pods some may not.
