5 Tips For Losing Weight When Eating At Restaurants
Restaurants are a part of your social life. After all, we eat together in order to socialize together. Now, if you decide to not eat at restaurants when losing weight, your social life might become quite unbearable.
The good news is that you don’t have to take such drastic measures.
So without further delay, here are 5 tips for losing weight when eating at restaurants:
1. Stay away from flashy dressings: The flashier the dressing the more likely it’s unhealthy. Instead, stick to olive oil based dressings. Not only is olive oil healthier, but it helps you get fuller quicker. Just make sure you don’t overdo it though.
2. Avoid high calorie toppings and sauces: You could order an extremely healthy chicken sandwich only to notice that the dressing it comes with has over 300 calories. Likewise, if you pile your salad with saturated fat laden cheeses and toppings, you could end up with a 1,000 calorie meal.
3. Have a diet soda or fizzy water with lemon: Drink this up before your food arrives. The gas within these drinks will bloat your stomach and make you feel fuller before eating. If you are really conscious about the sweeteners in diet sodas, simply have some carbonated water with lemons or limes.
4. Make soups and vegetables your best friends: Vegetables have lots of fibrous bulk with few calories. And soups have lots of water bulk with few calories-water doesn’t have any caloric content. So if you have a soup with lots of vegetables, you will feel full with little caloric load. Just be careful with the toppings here, especially cheese.
5. Avoid small side dishes: Just because they are small doesn’t mean they don’t have calories. In fact, many side dishes can have just as many calories as the main course, especially if it’s a sweet dish! So stick with your main meal instead.
Dining out doesn’t have to set back your fat loss efforts. In fact, if you are smart about your choices, it can actually help the process because you won’t feel deprived!
